Sigil Making
Among the many aspects of magick every Vampire should know is the art of sigil creation. It is a quick and easy form of magick that is easy to learn but difficult to master; but can be incredibly beautiful at times.
If done right there really is no limit to the possibilities sigil casting can create. Extremely versatile for any situation, from a quick draw and cast from paper, to a talisman, to visual instant cast, sigils are literally a magick user's most versatile tool at their disposal at any given time.
Sigils are a visual or audio representation of something you wish to attain. This representation is then broken down and reformed, with the same pieces, into something that has little dissemblance to the original concept.
You start with a sentence of desire, say, “It is my will to become mentally quicker.” Then we break the sentence down into a structure that does not resemble what we originally wanted. To do this we scratch out each vowel until we are left with “TSMYWLLTBCMMNTLLYQCKR”. Then we cross out all the doubles so were left with “TSMYWLBCNQKR”.
We then take those letters and put them into an artistic representation. Draw out the letters in a way you cannot recognize them as letters anymore. The end result should look like nothing you started with. You do not need any artistic skill to do this; it doesn’t even have to look pretty just as long as the words are no longer recognizable as the original piece it started with.
Even though it does not look like it anymore - that original sentence of desire is within that sigil design. By drawing it up you have linked it to that sentence. Now it is time to activate the sigil into your subconscious. To do this you need to enter a state of “no mind” when there exists even for just a moment not a single thought is in your mind - your mind is left completely thoughtless.
This state of mind is extremely difficult to achieve without years of mediation practice. Luckily though there are ways to achieve this state of mind through other means. Two extremely easy ways to do this are by an orgasm through sex or other means; or use of the “death posture”.
To activate a sigil using the death posture simply sit down completely straight and rigid. Hands in front of you palms up. Close your eyes and begin to hold your breath. Keep holding it until you can no longer hold it then continue to hold it. Keep holding till it feels like you will pass out. Right at the moment you simply cannot hold on any longer open your eyes and stare straight at the sigil as you inhale deeply. Now quickly move the sigil elsewhere, preferably somewhere you will forget all about it, and try to focus on something else other than the sigil. The less it is in your conscious mind the less it will work in your sub conscious.
There are other methods than the word method described above. Another method of sigilizing a sentence of desire is very similar; instead of visually changing the words you cut the word up as it sounds. Creating something that sounds exotic and different but still uses the same letters used in the original sentence. With this sigilized word you chant it to activate it. Chant it over and over till it becomes a trance. This trance is called gnosis. Once you have entered the trance the sigil has been activated.
