The Astral Plane - Part 2
A reality check is something to be sure your actually dreaming. Things begin to be a little confusing once you are awake in your dreams and the need to know if you are dreaming or not arises. One easy way to do this is to pinch your nose and try to breathe. If you are awake you won’t be able to breathe; if you are dreaming you will still be able to breathe and therefore know you are dreaming. Perform a reality-check before you go to sleep.
Once you enter a lucid dreaming state, and when you wake up, getting into a healthy habit of reality checking will help you progress more rapidly.
Once you are able to hold a stable lucid dream you will now be capable of learning to get into the astral plane. Now that half of getting there has been learned it is not so difficult.
Once you are in a dream stand straight and look straight ahead. Begin to visualize a cut in the middle of the air in front of you. Watch as it slowly cuts it way to the ground then begins to spread open. Now at this part most will immediately wake up - but keep trying as often as you can. Eventually you will see the “tear” in your dream open up like a curtain to a milky blue/black environment. Walk through this new portal. You are now in the astral. Now where you are and who might be around you at that given moment is entirely unpredictable.
The astral plane defies all logic and physics. Most of it is pretty simple and bland but occasionally you can come across some truly strange scenery; with alien plant life and strange astral creatures lurking around. From here on it is purely up to you and your records to try and back trace where you have been, where to go and areas to explore. Occasionally you will come across a greater spirit who can share some knowledge of their area of the astral. Always approach these beings with respect and care. Many things can be learned from them if given the proper respect and kindness.
There is literally an endless amount of places to explore and things to discover in the astral; though it is best to not spend entirely too much time there and remember true non-lucid sleep is needed now and then. So keep these things in mind when learning how to do this.
